The Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research, ISSER, University of Ghana has been tasked to track progress being made in the implementation of computerized tax collection systems by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and how that is impacting on the business environment and tax revenues.

On Monday, 24h June, 2019 the West African Centre for Sustainable Rural Transformation (WAC-SRT) Project opened a one-week capacity building workshop at Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research, ISSER with participants from UDS. The programme is a joint collaboration between the ISSER, University of Ghana, and University of Development Studies(UDS) with sponsorship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Centre of African Excellence, University of Bonn, Germany.

Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research, ISSER, University of Ghana (host), the International Centre for Evaluation and Development, (ICED), and the Ministry of Monitoring and Evaluation on Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th July, 2019 organized a pre-conference workshop to usher in the much-anticipated 2nd Evidence to Action Conference.

On Tuesday 24th September, 2019 Southern Voice Ghana held a dissemination workshop at the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research, ISSER University of Ghana to share and take input on its findings on the study titled: Ensuring access to affordable, sustainable and a clean household energy for all in Ghana – Goal 7 .1 of the SDGs. Similar events on aspects of the SDG Goals were held in focal countries of the Southern Voice spread across five continents.

The Institute of Statistical, Social, and Economic Research (ISSER), University of Ghana has launched the fourth edition of the Ghana Social Development Outlook (GSDO) on 1st of October, 2019 at the ISSER Conference Facility.

Prof. Peter Quartey has been appointed the Director of ISSER effective August 1, 2019. He holds a PhD in Development Economics from the University of Manchester (UK), MSc in Quantitative Development Economics (University of Warwick, UK), MPhil. Economics (Ghana), and BA Economics (Ghana).

The Institute of Statistical Social and Economic Research (ISSER) of the University of Ghana has donated books on various sectors of the economy to the Takoradi Technical University (TTU).
